Davaam Rider App — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Davaam Life ("Davaam", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the Davaam Rider mobile application (the "App") for Android and iOS. The App is a work tool used by authorised delivery riders and field agents to receive assignments, navigate to machine/pickup locations, and share their live location with our dispatch team while on an active delivery route.
By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Who We Are (Data Controller)
Davaam Life is the data controller responsible for your information. For any privacy questions or requests you can reach us at info@davaam.pk.
2. Information We Collect
- Account & identity information: the username and password used to sign in, and your assigned rider/user ID and role. Your name and phone number may be associated with your account by your organisation.
- Precise & approximate location data: we collect your device's GPS location (fine and coarse) to show your position on the live map, calculate routes to assigned stops, and let our dispatch team track delivery progress. See Section 4 for how we handle background location.
- Ride / delivery activity: the routes, stops, machine locations, start and end times, and status updates you generate while completing assignments.
- Device & technical data: device type, operating system version, app version, and IP address, used for security, diagnostics, and delivering the service.
- Push notification token: a token used to send you assignment and status notifications.
We do not knowingly collect financial account details, contacts, photos, or messages, and the App is not directed to children.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Authenticate your login and maintain your session.
- Display your live position and generate turn-by-turn / multi-stop routing.
- Allow dispatch and administrators to monitor and coordinate active deliveries.
- Send operational notifications about your assignments.
- Maintain delivery history and improve service reliability and safety.
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse.
4. Location Data — Foreground & Background Collection
The core function of the App is live delivery tracking, which requires access to your location.
- When we collect location: the App accesses your location only while you are signed in and have an active ride/delivery in progress.
- Background location: so that your position keeps updating on the dispatch map even when the App is minimised or the screen is off during an active delivery, the App may collect location in the background using an Android foreground service (shown by a persistent notification). Background collection stops when you end or complete the delivery.
- Where it goes: location updates are sent to our servers over an encrypted connection so authorised dispatch staff can see live delivery progress.
- Your control: location access is optional and can be revoked at any time in your device settings. Without location permission the App's core tracking features will not function.
5. App Permissions We Request
- Location (fine, coarse & background): live tracking and routing during deliveries.
- Foreground service: keep location updating during an active delivery.
- Notifications: deliver assignment and status alerts.
- Internet & network: communicate with our servers.
- Run at startup / wake lock: reliably resume an interrupted active delivery.
- Vibrate: notification feedback.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the service:
- Within your organisation: your location and delivery activity are visible to authorised Davaam dispatch staff and administrators.
- Service providers: mapping/routing (e.g. OpenStreetMap-based services) and hosting/infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: where required to comply with the law or a valid legal request.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain account and delivery-history data for as long as your account is active and as required for operational and legal purposes. Live location points are retained only for the duration needed to operate active tracking and are not kept as a permanent per-point history in the delivery record.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data — including deletion of your account — by emailing info@davaam.pk. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal retention requirements.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and authentication — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.
9. Your Rights & Choices
- Access, update, or request deletion of your personal data.
- Revoke location or notification permissions in your device settings at any time.
- Contact us with any privacy concern or complaint.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for authorised adult riders and field staff only. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notifying you in the App.
